LFSER Holds Its Second General Meeting
The Lanka Foundation for Social and Educational Research (LFSER) held its Most Recent General Meeting on 1st February 2026, marking a further step in strengthening the Foundation’s governance and institutional development. The meeting was conducted online via the Zoom platform, in accordance with prevailing administrative practices, and was attended by members of the Executive Committee and General Membership.
Proceedings commenced with welcome and opening remarks, followed by the confirmation of the minutes of the First General Meeting. Members reviewed progress achieved since the inaugural meeting, including the development of governance documents, strategic planning, and preparatory work related to NGO registration. A key outcome of the meeting was the reaffirmation of the Executive Committee and office bearers, ensuring continuity in leadership and oversight. Members also discussed the Foundation’s research focus areas, proposed programmes, and institutional activities, reiterating LFSER’s commitment to high-quality social and educational research. The meeting further considered a financial update and formally resolved to proceed with statutory registration and compliance processes, authorising the President and Secretary to undertake the necessary actions on behalf of the Foundation. The meeting concluded with closing remarks, reaffirming the shared commitment of members to advancing LFSER’s mission of generating rigorous, ethical, and policy-relevant research that contributes to inclusive and sustainable social and educational development in Sri Lanka.
