The Lanka Foundation for Social and Educational Research (LFSER) implements programs that translate research into practice and policy, while strengthening national research capacity in education and related social fields. Our programs are designed to respond to Sri Lanka’s educational and social priorities through evidence-based, collaborative, and ethical approaches.

Social and Educational Research Program

This program supports the design and implementation of empirical research projects addressing teaching and learning, educational equity, language and literacy, teacher development, and the social dimensions of education. Projects include needs assessments, intervention studies, program evaluations, and policy-oriented research conducted in partnership with schools, universities, and public institutions.

Teacher and Practitioner Professional Development Program

LFSER offers research-informed professional development activities for teachers and education practitioners. These include workshops, short courses, and practitioner research support aimed at strengthening pedagogical practice, assessment literacy, reflective teaching, and inclusive education.

Policy Research and Advisory Program

Through this program, LFSER provides analytical support to policymakers, development agencies, and educational institutions. Activities include policy analysis, monitoring and evaluation studies, policy briefs, and stakeholder consultations that contribute to evidence-based decision-making.

Research Capacity Building Program

This program focuses on developing research skills among postgraduate students, early-career researchers, teachers, and practitioners. Activities include research methodology training, mentoring, proposal development support, and small research grants for practitioner-led studies.

Knowledge Dissemination and Public Engagement Program

LFSER promotes open access to research findings through publications, conferences, seminars, and public forums. This program supports the dissemination of research reports, policy briefs, academic articles, and practitioner-oriented resources to ensure research findings are accessible and impactful.

Through these programs, LFSER aims to strengthen the link between research, practice, and policy, and to contribute to equitable and sustainable social and educational development in Sri Lanka.
